„Nature does not reviel anything which is consummate in itself, this can only be achieved by man. The essential thing ist the apt preparation This art is called Alchemy. He then, who is able to refine, what to man grows uslessly, into that which was intendet by Natur,is an Alchemist.“
Paracelsus
A part of my artistic work -and developement- process ist the making of colorpigments, which I extract from plants. Since 1998 I have analysed the roots, leaves, blossoms and berries of over a 100 different plants in long series of experiments, to determine their potential color. Especially fascinating are those colors, which one woudn`t expect to find, like for instance the shades of colors which I found in the inner bark of certain trees.
Decisive incentives for this work I owe to a naturepath, in who`s laboratory I got to know the chemical- pharmaceutical processes which in modified form I since then use.
With the help of additives such as metalsalts, I process the extracted colors into pigments. These should of course suffice the needs of painting in regard of color durability.
